Are
there different Audéo
models?
There are three different technical Audéo models. Each comes in 15
different color
combinations. Your Audéo specialist can help you determine which model is best for your needs.
Can
I change the color after I buy one?
It
is possible to change the color after purchase, but this must be done by your Audéo specialist.
Can
I change one part of the color combination of an Audéo?
It is possible to change
the
color of a single part, although you can not do this yourself. For more details please ask your
Audéo specialist.
If I wear Audéo is
it visible for others?
Audéo
is designed for optimum performance and ultimate discretion. It tucks neatly behind the ear, but from
certain angles it may be slightly visible. You can choose your Audéo here.
Is
the thin wire visible for others?
The wire is coated in a transparent material
that makes
it almost disappear when in place, but depending on your skin tone and hairstyle, it may be slightly
visible. You can choose your Audéo here.
Does
the Fidelity Sound Port fit every ear?
The Fidelity Sound Port is available in
4 different
lengths and has a variety of standard earpiece options, so it can fit virtually every ear. There is
also a custom
micro-mold that can be made to fit the ear instead of using a standard earpiece when wanted or needed.
Why
does Audéo have two microphones?
Dual microphone
technology is key to the ability of Audéo to effectively manage different situations by reducing background
noise and amplifying speech. Audéo uses a feature called digital SurroundZoom which is the most advanced
directional microphone system available today. Audéo constantly analyzes and adapts to the environment.
I
have a hard time understanding the conversation in noisy environment,
can Audéo help me?
This is one of the most important benefits of Audéo. Phonak
pioneered
dual microphone technology, the only proven solution for effective communication in noisy listening
situations. The combination of enhanced CrystalSound and digital SurroundZoom offers a new generation
of hassle-free listening in even the most demanding environments, so you can continue to embrace the
variety of communication that makes life fun, meaningful and productive.
What
can I do
to protect my ears and hearing?
It is easy to take our hearing and our other senses
for granted. Practicing a few safety measures will help to protect your ears and hearing:
- Avoid excessively loud noise, whether at work or play. Be sure to "turn down the sound": don't self induce hearing loss with exposure to excessively loud music.
- If your work or recreation consistently exposes you to loud noise, find a hearing protection system that is comfortable and convenient, and use it faithfully. There are many types of hearing protection which are effective when used properly and consistently.
- Avoid "Q-tipping" in your ears. While use of cotton swabs is practical for drying and removing wax from the exterior portion of the ears, many people insert them too deeply and actually increase any existing wax problem by pushing it in further.
How
do I know if I might benefit from Audéo?
Common
signs that suggest that you might benefit from Audéo:
- It seems that people are often mumbling.
- You notice that you only hear parts of conversations or stories when people are talking.
- You often ask people to repeat what they said.
- You find yourself feeling fatigued or stressed after meetings or gatherings where extra concentration is required to follow the conversation.
- Other people tell you that you play the TV or radio too loudly.
- You have difficulty hearing a telephone or mobile phone ring.
- You have consistent ringing or buzzing in your ears.
Do
I need one Audéo or two?
Ultimately, sound is processed in our brains based on
the input
it receives from our ears. With balanced input from both ears we can localize sounds, manage noisy surroundings,
perceive the softest sounds and experience an overall "natural" sound quality. For the same
reasons, when there is hearing loss in both ears, most people should use two Audéo. Your Audéo specialist
will advise you regarding what is appropriate for you.
What
facts regarding
Audéo do I need to be aware of?
When your Audéo specialist recommends Audéo she/he
will
consult with you about your lifestyle, unique personal needs and how each feature on the Audéo might
improve your ease of communication in different listening environments. Furthermore, she/he will instruct
you on the proper care and use of Audéo, including warranty and trial period. If you have any doubts
or questions, you should discuss them with your Audéo specialist.
Is
Audéo difficult
to use?
Audéo is very simple to use. Once in place, it is fully automatic and doesn’t
require further adjustments from you. Your Audéo specialist will select a model that is appropriate
for your lifestyle and listening needs. Putting Audéo in place is also not difficult. Your Audéo specialist
will help you learn to do this.
Does
Audéo use batteries?
Yes, Audéo
uses batteries that should last one to two weeks, depending on how many hours per day you use Audéo.
These readily available disposable batteries are inexpensive and are easy to change yourself. Your Audéo
specialist will show you how.
How much
does an Audéo cost?
Please
contact your Audéo specialist.
Does
Audéo have a trial period?
This depends on where you live and the policy of your
Audéo specialist. Most countries
have a minimum trial period required by law, and some Audéo specialists will provide an extended trial
period.
